Butchery is a gathering profession which allows players to collect hides,bones and teeth from animal corpses in Rift.
Butchery is useful with Armorsmithing and Apothecary professions.The hides can be used to make leather.Leather can be used by Outfitters and Artificers.Teeth and Bones are used by Apothecaries and Artificers.
A Butchery trainer can only teach you recipes and profession grades according to his own Butchery grade.There are four levels of proficiency,Novice,Skilled,Expert and Master.Each level needs certain skill level requirement before you can upgrade to next level.Besides you will be charged some gold for learning fee.
The beasts are the basic requirement,killed by the butcher or other players.Butchery recipes are used to craft leathers from hides which can be learned at a butchery trainer once you meet the required profession level.Butchery levels up best with Outfitting, Apothecary and Armorsmithing.With your levels increased,you can obtain the higher level items in the higher level zones.
Profession trainers are able to perform unlearn.If you want to unlearn Butchery,just select 'I'd like to unlearn a skill' option from the trainer's menu,then choose the profession you want to unlearn.
